Eligibility, enrollment, and registration

Who is eligible to enroll in the Academy?

The WECAN Academy was created for patients and patient advocates to grow their skills and expertise in European cancer patient advocacy. The Academy has an open-access policy. This means anyone who is interested in the courses offered is welcome to enroll in the WECAN Academy. You must be at least of legal age of consent to enroll in the WECAN Academy.

Individuals who would benefit from our online courses are generally motivated and independent self learners.

How do I enroll and register?

Anyone who would like to participate in our courses will need to Enroll in the WECAN Academy and create a learner profile.

There are two ways to accomplish this:
  1. After clicking “Enroll”, simply connect with one of your social network accounts. It's the easiest way by far since you don’t need to remember yet another password. To create an account, click on the button corresponding to the social network you prefer to use and follow the process. You will be asked to confirm your email address, so make sure that you enter a valid email address.
  2. The second option for creating a new account is using your email. After entering your name and valid email address, click on the Create Account link that can be found in the login form.

Whether you choose to sign up with one of your social network accounts or email, you will need to enter your organization, identity (e.g. patient, patient advocate, carer), and country. We know oftentimes you can be part of multiple groups. Please select the one most relevant to you. We use this information to tailor our platform to you.

I have registered. What happens next?

If it’s the first time you enrolled in our platform, you will need to confirm your account. Check your email that you registered with or that is associated with your social network account. Once you have logged in, you are free to register and take courses available that interest you. Navigate to the course and register. Courses will be available immediately after registering.

What if I change my mind and do not want to continue learning?

If you would no longer like to take courses offered by the WECAN Academy, we can delete your account for you. Please email us at Academy@wecanadvocate.eu or use the contact form to submit your request.
